Sugar Apple “Anon” (Annona squamosa) – Green Variety

Indulge in one of the most beloved tropical desserts nature has to offer with the Sugar Apple “Anon” — also known as Sweetsop or Anón. This classic green-skinned variety is famous for its exceptionally sweet, creamy white flesh that tastes like a rich vanilla custard with subtle tropical notes. The fruit breaks apart easily into juicy segments when ripe, making it a fun, spoonable treat straight from the tree.

Why Grow Sugar Apple “Anon”:

  • Irresistible Flavor & Texture: Soft, melt-in-your-mouth custard-like pulp bursting with natural sweetness — perfect for eating fresh, blending into smoothies, or making homemade ice cream and desserts.
  • Unique Appearance: The heart-shaped or conical fruit features a distinctive knobby, scaly green skin that turns slightly yellowish when ripe. Inside, glossy black seeds are surrounded by fragrant, segmented white flesh.
  • Compact & Productive: This small, well-branched tree (typically 10–20 ft tall) is ideal for home gardens, patios, or containers. It fruits relatively quickly and can produce multiple harvests in warm subtropical climates.
  • Low-Maintenance Tropical Beauty: Attractive foliage and fragrant yellowish flowers add ornamental value. It’s drought-tolerant once established and thrives in full sun with well-draining soil.

Perfect for USDA zones 9b–11 and warm subtropical areas like Florida. Hand-pollination can boost fruit set in areas with limited natural pollinators, but many growers enjoy reliable production with minimal effort.

Experience nature’s own creamy custard — order your Sugar Apple “Anon” today and enjoy sweet, homegrown tropical goodness!

If you are familiar with your apples. These plants do not ship well they will lose some leaves but over time they will come back. And this tree did what all sugar apples normally do dropped all those leaves so in time they'll come back until then we'll pick out a spot and try to get it planted.
